Started scientific job in 1980. Participated in the numerous conferences. Main and the only subject is ornithology. Being student with a supervisor of The Fauna program in the national university and the secretary of the zoology group in the department of biology and also the head of student scientific society. From 1988 was employed in the State Museum of Nature of The Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. Scientific interests are in the field of fauna, ecology and protection of birds. Results of investigations are published in more than 50 articles and books. Thesis was titled "Ornithofauna in Lviv: population, spreading and changes." Was qualified with a master degree of biology in 2001.
Mr. Bokotey is an active participant in social life and is a member of Ukrainian Society for Birds Conservation. In nineties he was a chief secretary and a head of the Western branch of Ukrainian Ornithological Society, a member of the board of the society. Several times granted as a scholarship holder of The Ukrainian Academy of Sciences. At present moment is a secretary of the editorial board of The scientific articles of the State Museum of Nature of The Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and a member of ornithological magazines "The Golden Eagle" and ptjers.amd the chief editor of the Informational Bulletin of the Western branch of Ukrainian Ornithological Society. Hobbies: no hobbies except birds and ornithology. Languages: Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, English so so.
