Mal and Tony Bouzaid have a lifetime's experience of exploring the Barrier from both land and sea. From Tony's early childhood, he and his family have been holidaying and exploring the Barrier, aboard the family's yacht, 'Rainbow'. With his late father, Leo, and brother Chris, many hours have been spent exploring the hidden coves, streams and walking the beautiful, native-bush tracks. Tony has continued this tradition, with his own children, passing on his love and knowledge of one of the world's most natural and unspoilt havens. The Bouzaids' competitive, yachting achievements are world-renowned. Amongst Tony's experiences and accolades are two World 1/2-Ton Cup wins and a New Zealand Yachtsman-of-the-Year, and other local and NZ yachting titles.
