I am 45 years old and I've liked nature since I was a boy in the Boy Scouts. I learned to respect nature and at the age of 16 I became a mountain guide. My first two clients were Japanese who spoke a little English and nothing of Spanish. At that time I spoke no English and, really, I haven't improved much since then. Let's say about 50%. Anyway, I took them up Mexico's highest mountain, a little over 15,000 feet. During the 1980s I was again with the Boy Scouts running rivers and in 1981 I got to work with the people of Far Flung Adventures, of Texas. From them I learned a lot about boat handling and the tourism business. In 1985 I starting a rafting business called Amigos del Rio, but that failed because of lack of clients. In 1989 I joined up with Far Flung and we worked together for several years, until 1994 when I resurrected Amigos del Rio. Of course at first it was pretty rocky and our equipment was old, but now we're a bit better off. With regard to experience and classes, since 1978 we've been participating in rafting competitions here in Mexico. Now I'm an organizer, and my boys compete. They are also guides and they work with me in the business. We conduct R3 Internal classes and classes of first aid, as well as tourism classes and classes on ecology. My wife is in charge of administration, driving, and she takes care of the kids when that's necessary. So we live an adventure here and we experience nature. Our business philosophy is that we can love nature only by knowing about it. POR LOS AÑOS 80 AS. EMPECE TODABIA CON LOS BOY SCOUTS A NAVEGAR LOS RIOS POR EL 81 CONOCI A LA GENTE DE FAR FLUNG ADVENTURES DE TEXAS Y NAVEGUE CON ELLOS APRENDIENDO BASTANTE DE SUS TECNICAS DE MANEJAR AL TURISMO. EN EL 85 PRETENDI FORMAR UNA EMPRESA DE RAFTING QUE SE LLAMO AMIGOS DEL RIO PERO FRACASO POR NO TENER CLIENTES. POR EL 89 QUEDE DE SOCIO CON FAR FLUNG Y ESTUBIMOS TRABAJANDO PR ALGUNOS AÑOS HASTA QUE NOS SEPARAMOS Y A PARTIR DEL 94 RETOMAMOS EL NOMBRE DE AMIGOS DEL RIO ,CLARO QUE AL PRINCIPIO FUE EN FORMA MUY PRECARIA CON EQUIPOS VIEJOS , Y AHORA ESTA UN POQUITO MEJOR. EN CUANTO A LA EXPERIENCIA Y CURSOS DESDE EL 78 PARTICIPAMOS EN LAS COMPETENCIAS DE RAFTING QUE SE ORGANIZABAN EN MEXICO HASTA LA FECHA SOLO QUE AHORA SOY ORGANIZADOR Y MIS HIJOS COMPITEN QUE POR CIERTO ELLOS SON GUIAS QUE JUNTO CONMIGO TRABAJAMOS EN LA EMPRESA. TeNEMOS CURSOS DE R3 INTERNAL Y DE PRIMEROS AUXILIOS, ASI COMO ALGUNOS CURSOS DE TURISMO Y ECOLOGIA, MI ESPOSA ES LA ENCARGADA DE LA ADMINISTRACION , CHOFER, Y NIÑERA SI ES NECESARIO CUANDO LOS CLIENTES TRAEN NÑOS PEQUEÑOS. ES POR LO QUE SOMOS UNA FAMILIA AL SERVICIO DE OTRA FAMILIA Y JUNTOS VIVIMOS UNA AVENTURA Y CONOCEMOS A LA NATURALEZA, LA FILOSOFIA DE LA EMPRESA ES QUE PODEMOS AMAR A LA NATURALESA SOLO A TRAVEZ DEL CONOCIMIENTO DE LA MISMA.
