"I always believe in the existence of our traditional activities. I like to travel around the famous lagoon, climbing mountains and experience things that are beneath the sea. I always have an open mind to be flexible enough with itineraries to be able to fully utilize the opportunities available in our island, including the lagoon and even Solomon Islands."

Personal background:

I was born on 28th March, 1960 and grew up at my home island at Ngatokae Island, Marovo Lagoon. I have spent my early age at home and my adult life at the city of Honiara, Solomon Islands, where I worked as a Government Administrator for 17 years. I finished work in 1998 and went home and continued with my interest in studying local traditional activities, natural environment and other valuable things. During my early years at home my grandfather and grandmother taught me a lot of traditional activities and genealogies. I learned about birds, fish, animals, snakes and other creatures that you will find on our island. In fact, the first thing to be understood at the early age of a boy is how to build a traditional house, to do traditional fishing, traditional hunting and even to learn how to become a good traditional fighter.

I really enjoy being involved in learning traditional activities.  My interest has brought me to a point of understanding where I can easily relate most of the traditional ways of life to people who are interested.

Eric conducts the A Week on Serere & in an Eco-Bungalow experience.
