| John, born around 1950, is an
economist who loves tourism and has been in the business of tourism since 1975. Though
very busy with other undertakings, from time to time he accompanies groups visiting
Indonesia for adventure trips or bird watching. As a birder he is learning fast and
knows a good deal, but he is not quite yet an "expert." He has been
involved in promoting eco-tourism in Indonesia since about 1996. At present, he is
conducting a survey for opening Eco lodges on the island of Sulawesi / Celebes. John is married with 2 chidren. One boy and one girl. He is a member of the Eco Tourism Society and the PATA chapter of the Hash Club. John will be communicating through his host helper Indriyani Susanto Kembuan, usually known as Indri. Indri operates a small ecotourism service, but we are assured that the operation is small and informal enough to fit the EarthFoot mold. John hosts our Bukit Tiga Puluh National Park & Talang Mamak Tribes tour. |
