Dr. Dave Levy

Dave LevyDr. Dave Levy has spent much of his life in or adjacent to water. At an early age he became interested in the environmental movement, and developed a passion for fishing and marine biology which led him to British Columbia in 1975 and a professional career in fisheries biology and aquatic ecology. He has undertaken numerous research and consulting projects in BC on all five species of Pacific salmon. He presently resides on Bowen Island with his wife Karen and 2 teenaged sons and commutes by BC Ferries to an office in Horseshoe Bay where he runs an environmental consulting company during the off-season.

Dave has worked internationally on applied fisheries and environmental problems in Latin America and SE Asia in aquatic environments ranging from Lake Titicaca to the Mekong River.

Early during Dave’s field career he took great enjoyment from introducing friends and other ecologists to field study sites to view waterfowl and wildlife and to gain a better appreciation for nature. Circumstances brought Dave to Sointula whose adjacent coastal marine waters are teeming with salmon, killer whales and other marine mammals, and many other forms of aquatic life.  Dave is eager to provide you with an unforgettable educational eco-adventure tour experience that will include salmon fishing, a native cultural tour, whale and grizzly bear viewing, and a great time for all participants.

Dr. Dave conducts EarthFoot's BC's Coastal Marine Environment & First Nations Culture program.
