Catherine is of Nepalese origin, born and bred at Kalimpong. She has been the moving spirit in setting up Samthar Farm House as an Eco wilderness lodge. Over eight years she has built up invaluable ground experience. Dynamic, charming and a "hands on" worker, she loves to interact with people. Her concern for her guests, and the ability to perform a wide variety of functions, encompassing house keeping, kitchen operations, and tour operations, has been instrumental in building an excellent reputation, leading to many repeat guests. Catherine has done extensive research in local lifestyles, religion, and culture. She has mastered local recipes and created a special range of interactive cuisine, which makes dining at the Farmhouse an experience to remember. She has trained local village folks as house staff, and many have found employment outside the region. Catherine conducts EarthFoot's Eight Days of the Nature and Culture of Sikkim experience.
