| On a trip through Latin America in 1987, world traveller George Otis was waylayed by a gang of rambunctious Mexicans, and never did make it to Río. But he gradually got used to his new surroundings, to the point where he was unwilling to return to the US (except for a period of graduate studies in anthropology). Since then, he has worked as a researcher for the Mexican National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), collaborated with several governmental and NGO projects, and has written about a wide variety of topics related to the Cora and Huichol Indians. A Minnesota native, he now resides in Tepic (Nayarit state) with his wife and two sons. George conducts EarthFoot's "Eco-Cultural Trips among Nayarit's Cora People" experience. |
