Education: A native to the Iquitos region and raised in a Yagua village in the local rainforest, Lucio's self-teaching has made him a very sought-after guide.

Background: Born in 1956, Lucio has been an Explorama guide for 17 years. He assists Earthwatch groups and has worked with Ted Parker in the forest. He is co-leader of the Explorama Rainforest Workshops.

His hobbies are birding, fishing, exploring the Rainforest and... dancing.

He lives in Iquitos with his wife, son and two daughters.

NOTE: Lucio's e-mail is directed through Explorama's Peter Jenson, who prints out incoming mail and relays it to him, and sends mail on his behalf. Sometimes Lucio will ask Peter to send an e-mail with a particular piece of information. When you have questions about logistics and travel matters, Peter will answer directly, but you will always be able to communicate with Lucio directly, though it may take a few extra days to pass through the channels.
