Hi. My name is John Ratcliffe & I live in Kamloops, BC. with my wife & two children. While living in Ontario 7 years ago I acquired my degree as a Cartographer (mapmaker). With this knowledge I searched out old & forgotten logging road maps. This opened up a whole new venture for me: exploration of undisturbed mineral, crystal or fossil sites while traveling in the mountains around Kamloops, BC. Three years ago, I started my own small tour business. I soon discovered that I was the only person conducting geology or fossil tours in British Columbia. The interior of BC. contains one the most abundant Eocene (36.6 to 57.8 million years old) fossil sites in British Columbia. Specimens found at just one of our private sites include fish, leaves, insects & pinecones, to name a few.
