Earthfoot hosts Anne Seavey and Shelly Tinker
in Lubec - North Eastern Maine - USA

picture of Anne guiding a groupAnne Seavey has a passion for Lubec history. Her first job was working in a sardine factory. Her great great grandfather started a smoked herring business at Diamond Point in Lubec, which included a farm and sawmill. Her father was a barber in Lubec for 43 years. While showing tourists historical locations and points of interest in Lubec and Campobello, she shares stories and legends learned from her family going back five generations.

Born and raised in Lubec, Anne attended Lubec schools and has two grown children. After finishing college she worked as an office manager and later was a tour guide at the Roosevelt International Park in Campobello, guiding visitors through the Roosevelt cottage. She has been a substitute at the Lubec Consolidated School for ten years.

Anne loves sharing the natural beauty, serenity, slow pace, and friendly atmosphere of Lubec, the easternmost point in the United States.




picture of Shelly TinkerShelly Tinker, a certified diver and photographer, was born and raised in Lubec. Combining her interests, she photographed undersea creatures for the Nature Conservancy's poster on Cobscook Bay (under the name Shelly Corey). She has also participated in the successful rescue of two whales entangled in fishing gear.

Shelly is a fourth generation Lubecker (her grandfather was a lobster fisherman), and her husband is a fifth generation fisherman from Campobello Together they run a commerical fishing boat. Shelly approaches tour guiding with knowledge, enthusiasm and a love of the Downeast nature and way of life. Whether squishing through low tide mud or pointing out the differences in fishing vessels, she makes every tour a pleasure.
