Main field of interest:
Teaching visitors about, and how to interact with, the subalpine and alpine environment of
the Rocky Mountains; exploring new paths and learning, learning, learning (!) about the
flora, fauna and geology of our area.Education:
BSc in Animal Science; MSc, PhD and Post-doc in Reproductive Physiology.
Background:
Born in 1954 in Rimbey, Alberta, Canada; spent most of her youth in northwest Arizona,
raising 4H steers and horses and working on a cattle ranch. Following formal eduction in
Arizona, Colorado, Texas and Saskatchewan, Laura worked as a research scientist for
Alberta Agriculture and the University of Florida. Internationally known for her work on
nutrition/reproduction interactions and integrated resource management programs, Laura
left academia in 1994 to start what she does now.
