Background: Vaskar Uprety was born in the eastern terrain of Nepal and was educated at local school and college, where he specialized in commerce. He started his trekking career as mountain bike cum trekking guide with Machhapuchare trekking. Over the five years he worked there, he accumulated an invaluable knowledge of the region's flora and fauna, and joined Explore Nepal's team of Nepalese full-time trek leader in 1994.Since then his great enthusiasm, cheerful and friendly disposition, together with an exceptional fluency in English have contributed to many successful Explore Nepal's tours and Treks. He has also traveled and trekked widely all over the Nepal leading Explore Nepal groups.
