Gustav W. Verderber
Main field of interest:Photographing nature, and showing others how to improve their own photographic technique.

Education: M.Sc. in Zoology, B.Sc. in Biology

Languages: English and German

Most of Gustav's adult life has been spent teaching in the field of natural history, doing field work on various environmental projects, photographing, and writing both technical and popular works. His works have appeared in such fine magazines as Natural History and Vermont Life, as well as on television, and at exhibits. In 1974 he won the literary award for best fiction at Bowling Green State University.

Presently he juggles a variety of responsibilities, including serving as an Elderhostel Faculty member, Guiding for Notch Above Tours, offering a number of his own nature-oriented group tours, and becoming ever better known as an excellent nature photographer. He is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association and the American Littoral Society. He offers the following references:
