islands, bays, and coves by boat. Discussing environmental issues, questioning media hype,
enjoying island time and viewing stunning sunsets. Education: BS in marine invertebrates from the University of Washington, School of Fisheries Background: Born in Tacoma, Washington in 1937, Mike grew up in Tacoma, California, Philippines and Virginia. After four years in the Navy as a photographer he returned to Washington State where he worked as a shellfish biologist. Several years later he taught physical, biological, earth, and environmental science to Junior High students. During his spare time Mike built a 30 foot sailboat and learned to sail. He now has has a Coast Guard license to Captain charter boats up to 100 tons and for the past twenty years he has sailed the San Juan Islands, Gulf Islands, Desolation Sound and other Northwest waters. Mike conducts our San Juan Islands by Sailboat tour. |
