Gem writes us:
I grew up in England, and spent 6 years in my early twenties travelling the world
with my backpack, having worked 4 years in abank in London. I am a staunch
environmentallist.
Whilst travelling the caribbean, I was working on the yachts and discobvered
Dominica. Then I worked for a year in Guadeloupe in a small hotel with cottages and
camping. It was there that I had the dream to one day come to dominica to set up my own
small eco lodge.
After studying to be a teacher in England, I then worked day and night for 7 years
in england to save the money to come here... and spent the first 6 months clearing my
overgrown banana plantation with my cutless and a couple of friends, whilst awaiting
planning permission.
