What Earthfoot Is All About

This site is a public forum where individuals such as naturalists, guides, historians and community activists from all over the world invite travelers to come for a visit and participate in very small-scale programs they themselves have developed. These programs typically focus on topics such as local plants, animals, ecology, and/or aspects of local traditional cultures.

Here we are dealing with a special kind of ecotourism.   It is special because our hosts' programs are not packaged tours where the visitor simply joins a pre-existing group.  On EarthFoot tours the host deals with the visitor on a one-on-one basis.  The host invites you to state your special interests and needs. These programs are customizable.

EarthFoot programs are also special because you communicate with the host via e-mail before the trip takes place and upon your arrival the host personally takes charge of your experience.  To help you know more about your host, each program description at this site is accompanied by a "Host Page," where the host introduces himself, herself, or themselves.  Getting to know the local host is a very important part of any EarthFoot experience.

To begin using this site, you can browse through our programs either by returning to our clickable world map and clicking on your destination continent, or else by clicking on a topic in which you are interested, next to the clickable map.
