HIKING:
Our trail system is modeled on the
Appalachian Trail system. It is designed to give everyone of average ability the
opportunity to view the forest. The trails mostly form loops and are
environmentally-sited so as to minimize impact.
Given the elevation of 2300 meters (7,500 feet) above sea level, these are not trails to
be hurried. Allow yourself to be in awe of the towering white oak trees and then
notice the miniature orchid near your feet. A flash of scarlet and blue may be a
glimpse of the Resplendent Quetzal, sacred bird of the Aztecs.
Hikes / Zip-line are given by Steve Friedman, who was an enthusiastic high-school
teacher and has a degree in Geography and General Science and is experienced in the flora
& fauna, ecology and geology of the area. Steve is also qualified in First Aids and
CPR

BIRDING:
The birds of the Talamanca Mountains are sometimes a mix of rare
endemics and common to rare migrants depending on the time of the year. Our bird
list is the most complete and user-friendly and its accuracy is attested to by Dr.
Alexander Skutch, co-author of "The Birds of Costa Rica
CLOUD FOREST CANOPY TOUR:
Did you see the movie Medicine Man? Did you secretly envy his ability to
glide through the tree tops but dont have the nerve? Talamanca
