About Tharavadu Heritage Home:
This century old Banglow is now carefully renovated to a Modern type resort by keeping its original heritage structure. There are about 5 Double Beded Rooms in the Banglow, out of it 2 Rooms having Air Conditioning facility. The area of this property is about 3 Acrs. The greenery inside the property is carefully maintained and there is a small Farm of Swans, Ducks, Pigeons,  Fishes etc.. to keep the project alive. Our vision is to provide Homely Stay / Food for the Guests staying at the Resort. Mr. Kence Georgey is residing in an House near to this property. He is personally attending all the Guests and providing other requirements for them such as Ayurveda Body Massaging, Boat Cruise, Travel arrangements etc.

About Kumarakom:
Kumarakom, 16km west of Kottayam, is technically an island on Vembanad Lake. Although right in the thick of a tangle of lush tropical waterways, it can be reached quite easily by bus from Kottayam (every 10min). The peak time to visit the Bird Sanctuary, which is no longer negotiable by boat since the channels have been choked by African moss, is between November and March when it serves as a winter home for many migratory birds, some from as far away as Siberia. Species include the darter or snake bird, little cormorant, night heron, golden-backed woodpecker, crow pheasant, white-breasted water hen and tree pie. Enthusiasts should visit the sanctuary at dawn, which is the quietest and best time for viewing, and the early rays of sunlight falling through the lush tropical canopy are beautiful. . The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake, and this small water world is part of the Kuttanad region. The bird sanctuary here, which is spread across 14 acres is a favorite haunt of migratory birds and an ornithologist's paradise. Egrets, darters, herons, teal, waterfowl, cuckoo, wild duck and migratory birds like the Siberian stork that live There in flocks are a fascination for visitors.  The best way to watch the birds of the Kumarakom sanctuary is a boat trip round the islands

LOCATION:
13 kms from Kottayam lies the sleepy little village of Kumarakom on the Vembanad lake. Kumarakom offers exotic sightseeing, boating and fishing experiences. The Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is one of the most important attractions of the place. Cruising along the Vembanad Lake one can get glimpses of the numerous migratory birds like the egret, darter, heron and teal.

Proceed straight through Kumarakom Kaavanattikara Road just ¾ km from Kumarakom town is the government Boat Jetty Kumarakom. Just opposite of which or right side of the road is “Tharavadu Heritage Home”.

From Ernakulam or Cochin Kumarakom town is 50-70 km away.
Proceed to Kumarakom town after Kavanattinkara Boat Jetty Govt Boat jetty is 3 km far on the left side of the road is “Tharavadu Heritage Home”
