LODGING:
lodgeSurrounded by abundant rainforest, Pacaya-Samiria Amazon Lodge has been built in accordance with the architecture of the zone and offers comfortable bungalows with private bathroomroom and terrace with view to the river. Connecting elevated walkways lead to our club-house, dining room, hammock room, watch-towers and hiking paths. Electricity is only available at night. We do have a library and a small boutique with hancrafted items and souvenirs.

MEALS
At our restaurant, visitors can enjoy international and regional cuisine, as well as bar service. Meals consist of soups and appetizers, salads, main course, pasta, dessert, fresh fruits, coffee or tea. We provide also drinking water to our visitors.

mapLOCATION:
Pacaya-Samiria Amazon Lodge is located 190 kilometers (120 miles) southwest of the city of Iquitos, on the banks of the Maraņon river, at a short distance from the PSNR.

Daily flights from Lima to Iquitos -approximately 1.5 hour flight. From Iquitos to Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge 3.5 hours by boat through the Amazon and Maraņon rivers.


6-DAY PROPOSED ITINERARY

Day One:

canoesReception at the airport by one of our bilingual guides. Transfer by boat to Pacaya-Samiria Amazon Lodge (PSAL). The travel lasts from 3.5 to 4 hours. We will observe the confluence of the Maraņon and Ucayali rivers, where the Amazonas river, by name, begins. Arrival to the lodge and accommodation. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will make a hike through the rainforest that surrounds the lodge to apreciate rainforest flora and fauna. Depending of the climate conditions, we will observe a beutiful sunset from our watch-tower. Dinner and briefing about the activities of the next day. Night at PSAL.

Day Two:

Jungle wild dawn. Birdwatching. Breakfast. Departure to the PSNR. Boat excursion to Nauta creek and the surounding lakes (Cochas). Box lunch. Observation of flora and fauna. Return to lodge. Night at the PSAL

Day Three:

Early morning Breakfast. Departure to the PSNR. Boat trip down the Yanayacu river to the Yarina village. The travel last 4 to 5 hours. Chance to observe gray and pink dolphins, acquatic birds, river turttles, sloths, monkeys, parrots and macaws. Box lunch. Arrival at camping site. Afternoon and night excursions. Caiman sightseing. Sound of the jungle. Dinner. Night at camping site in tents.

Day Four:

Breakfast. In the morning, we will make a hike through primary rainforest to Pona Lake to observe rainforest flora and fauna. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will make a canoe trip down the Yagua Creek. Dinner and briefing about the activities of the next day. Night at camping site.

Day Five:

Breakfast. Morning, riverside village visit to learn about local people way of life. Lunch. Return to the lodge. Night at PSAL

Day Six:

Breakfast. Morning relax. Lunch. Departure to the city of Iquitos. Arrival to the city of Iquitos at time to board your flight.
