Length: A five-day itinerary is proposed but rides of just about any length can be offered

Fee charged:The five-day, five-night ride described below costs $1000 Australian. The fee covers tents, mattresses, sheets, blankets, pillows, food, helmets and transport to and from your pickup destination in Cairns, Port Douglas or the Atherton Tablelands. Please note that other shorter tours are offered at different prices.

We are located one and a half hours drive along the picturesque Captain Cook Highway from Cairns, via Port Douglas. The climate is tropical with an average temperature of approximately 27°C, or 80°F.We operate from April to January.

We have a range of horses to suit experienced and inexperienced riders which include Quarter Horses, Warmbloods, Throughbreds, Australian Stock Horses and Ponies for children.

Rides vary in length and time according to riders ability. Groups of 4 or more will be taken exclusively, unless otherwise stated. All riders under the age of 18 must wear a helmet, over the age of 18 is optional depending on the riders ability. All riders are instructed in horsemanship and safety before the ride commences. Vegetarian meals are available by prior arrangement.

And here is a proposed 5-day, 5-night itinerary, but keep in mind that we're very flexible and can change things around a lot. This is just a suggestion:

ITINERARY

DAY 1:
Camp at Station CreekThe 5 day ride begins at Julatten, 40 kms East of the Mitchell River, we ride over Mt.Lewis through spectacular Rainforest. Lunch is had high up on a panoramic lookout with breathtaking views. We then descend down an extremely scenic mountain trail to Station Creek for a swim and afternoon tea. Afterwards head off to a tranquil setting where our camp, pictured here, is already prepared. While dinner is cooking, relax around the campfire having a cold beer or wine and a sing-a-long, or listen to Stretch tell a few bush yarns.

DAY 2:
Station CreekWe ride from Station Creek, pictured to the left, to Mary Falls via a working tin mine, from the falls we ride through some magnificent cattle country to our base camp on the Mitchell River. After a refreshing drink and a snack we swim the horses in the river.

DAY 3:
Station Creek:Today we ride to Mt. Carbine and view the largest open cut wolfram mine in the Southern Hemisphere. We have lunch at the Mt. Carbine Hotel, pictured at the right, and then a leisurely ride back to base camp via Mt. Alto.

DAY 4:
riding from camp at Mitchell RiverToday we ride from the camp at Mitchell River, a stretch of which is shown in the photo at the left, to Mt Molloy through a 400 square mile cattle station. Today we have the opportunity to either camp out, or stay at the historic National Hotel where we can enjoy dinner and a drink at the bar in traditional Australian style.

DAY 5:
Four Mile Beach, Port DouglasToday we leave the National Hotel and ride to Port Douglas via Wetherby Cattle Station, then off to Bells Hill, where we cross the Great Dividing Range (the oldest mountain range in the world). Then ride down the historic "Bump track", through the rainforest to the famous Four Mile Beach, pictured at the right, at Port Douglas for a beach ride. This is the end of our great adventure.
