When: Throughout year but Victor prefers to schedule tours to leave on the second Monday of each month.

Length: 13 days are proposed but trips of other lengths can be discussed

Number of guests: Minimum of 2

Fee: Average US$ 180 per person per day. However this cost would be reduced if the numbers of participants are more than two individuals. This cost is inclusive of food, accommodation, and all transportation from arrival to departure.

On this tour we will try to see 400 species of birds, but of course nothing can be guaranteed. We shall also see a great diversity of mammals, insects, spider's fungi and plants.

Our precise itinerary will depend on many things, including your specific interests and needs, the season and the weather. Here is a general description of the tour:

Mt Kenya Region: Within the forested trails of the mountain we await the shy mountain wildlife as it comes down to a nearby waterhole/saltlick. Here we hope to see Olive & Bronze naped Pigeons, Silver-cheeked Hornbills, Ruppell's Robin Chat, White-starred Forest Robin, Mountain Freenbul, Stuhlman's Starling and maybe Verreaux Eagle Owl. Within the Lower Slopes of the mountain through numerous vegetation zones and onto the 10,000ft Afro-Alpine moorland, and along the riverine forests we will be graced with the Black Duck, Hartlaub's Turaco, Crowned Hornbill, Paradise and up to eight species of sunbird.

Great Rift Valley Region: Into the Soyasambu Wildlife Sanctuary famous for flamingos, pelicans, and waterbirds and equally rich Narina's Trogon, Arrow marked Blabbler and Red-headed Weaver, Hilderbrant's Francolin, Montane and Dusky Nightjars and many more.

Onto the Hot springs of Lake Bogoria and Lake Baringo where a boat excursion will afford views of Hippo, Crocodile and water birds at close range. Dark Chanting Goshawk. Silverbird, Cliffchats, Jacksons & Yellow-billed Hornbills, Brown-tailed Rock Chat, Bristle-crowned Starlings, Verreaux Eagle & Spotted Eagle Owl.

Western Kenya: Over the Tugen Hills through the Kerio Valley and Serikwa Plateau and finally onto the Kakamega Forest. Kakamega is the eastern most remnant of the great West African rain forests that once stretched the width of Africa, its flora and fauna & avifauna is fascinating. Specialities include Great Blue Turaco, Emerald Cuckoo, Blue-Headed Bee-eater, Black & White Casqued Hornbill, Black-billed and Vieillot's Black Weaver.

Heading South past Lake Victoria and on to the Massai Mara Game Reserve, East Africa's finest wildlife sanctuary. All the big game Black Rhino, Elephant, Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Zebra, Wildebeest, Hartebeest, Topi Eland, and many more well represented wildlife as well as local bird specialities such as Open Billed Storks, Yellow throated Sandgrouse, Usambiro Barbet and many more.
