Zapatista Rebels

The four communities with whom I collaborate are in sympathy with the cause. And I entertain no doubts at all that their "enough, already is justified.

When we participate in ecotourism, we are always with a guide, and these communities take care of us -- because we are their guests. The communities have a rule that no one is permitted to enter if not accompanied by a member of the community. Of course, this adds to our personal security.

Also, it's part of my experience that many ecotourists actually like to know the people in these communities, and talk with the people -- get a little conversation going between the two cultures.
