About the Program

This is such a new program that we do not have all the information we need. We just know that the program is important and needs to be recognized, even if we cannot supply all the information we should have. Here is what is known:

The location is Ejido López Mateos, in the municipality of Catemaco, in the Los Tuxtlas Biosphere Reserve, in the state of Veracruz, on the Gulf of Mexico coast. This is 20 kms southeast of Catemaco, at an elevation of about 200 meters.

The community organization providing services is known as the Sociedad de Solidaridad Social Cielo, Tierra y Selva. They will enable you to visit tropical rainforest, cloudforest and mangrove ecosystems.

Special focus will be placed on bird watching, hiking nature trails in rainforest, visiting the mangroves and beach, Olmec archeological sites nearby, and seeing local crafts.

Accomodation will consist of tents, rustic lodge, and meals at peasant's home.
