A 5-Day Treehouse Stay
in Pristine Wilderness

The Treehouse Host: Eric Schmidt

When: Summer

Length: 5 days, 4 nights

Number of guests: Two, in fairly good physical shape

Languages: English, French & German

Fee: $880 per person. Fee covers flights to and from the isolated location, lodging, wholesome delicious meals, and personal guide

The idea here is very simple: Fly from Anchorage to a small lake 2 miles from your destination. The plane will return to Anchorage and now Eric will accompany you as you wade a large creek and then hike to a place where there are no neighbors, no other cabins, just pristine wilderness. The photo at the bottom of this page shows a scene from the hike in. Once at your destination you will move nto a comfortable treehouse Eric built and lived in as he was buiding a two-story cabin a while back, and Eric will take up residence in that cabin.

During your stay, you do what you wish. There is good hiking, fishing, and wildlife in the area. Naturally Eric will be available to suggest activities and help you with them.

Upon leaving, because the lake you have flown to is large enough to land in but too small to fly out from with several passengers, you will need to raft 5 miles down the creek, hoist the raft up in a tree (to be retrieved in winter by snowmobile) and hike to a larger lake where the plane can safely land and take off. Then you'll return to Anchorage.
