Traveling Throughout the Country:

Customized Birding Tours with Peter Ginn

Bird-book author and wildlife photographer Peter Ginn is eager to introduce his country's birdlife to any interested birder. He'll customize tours enabling you to see as many of Zimbabwe's 668 bird species as possible, or to focus on those species needed to round out your Life List. A comprehensive three-week itinerary is provided here just to give an idea of what is possible.

In the Zaka Valley:

Stay for a few days with a rural African family

For 2-4 days try living with a rural family, eating traditional food, climbing beautiful mountains, exploring caves with bushman paintings, joining local beer parties with traditional dancing and drumming, and socializing with the local people at the Madanhire family home.  In other words, experience life, as it has been lived for thousands of years.  The Madanhire family is headed by, and this experience is hosted by, Sekiwa Madanhire , who lives with his wife Nyaradzo, his brothers and sisters, and their children - 14 people in total. Living nearby are many aunts, uncles and cousins

Homestay & Some Touring

Basically same as above, except that visits are made to the Great Zimbabwe Ruins and a scenic drive is conducted along Lake Mutirikwi to Kyle Recreational Park.  Sekiwa Madanhire also conducts this tour..
